CLIFTON PARK — Shenendehowa senior Kelly Barkevich was named the Suburban Council Most Valuable Player for softball in a release Wednesday from the league.
Barkevich, a first baseman, helped lead Shenendehowa to the Section II Class AA championship game. She is signed to play softball next spring for the University at Albany.
First-team all-league selections from Shenendehowa included senior second baseman Kelly O’Gorman, junior shortstop Nicole McCarvill and senior outfielder Sadie Evans.
Ashley Sisto, a senior outfielder, was a second-team selection for the Plainsmen.
The league’s Pitcher of the Year was Ballston Spa senior Ashlyn Kersch, while Kristen Calahan of Shaker was the Coach of the Year.
